ed in the puddle too quickly for me to catch him. But I framed him in the foreground of the frame as he lingered there hoping for a crashing wave in the distance and some kind of movement from him. All the time trying to keep the Brighton Pier sign in the shot too. The wave crashed silhoetting the figure up ahead 'Duncan' jumped and I started snapping. The wave continued along the side of the groyne wall and eventually soaked us all. There are shots of the whole sequence I'll post up at a later date! I'd count it as probably one my best shots. Just being prepared in case everything came together for the shot. 99 times out of 100 it doesn't. But in this case it did. Not a huge seller but it epitomised what I was trying to achieve at the time. Something quintessentially a Brighton past time (playing in windy weather), with great light, atmosphere and a touch of the surreal. For me, a definitive decisive moment if you like. We are asked continually if it is a 'photoshoppe image'. I'm kind of glad it was shot on film and resulting prints matched to the hanprint. Authenticity in tact! Appeared in the 2004 calendar.
